A conquered city

Every year, thousands of Chassidic Jews travel in pilgrimage to Central Eastern Europe, to pray on the graves of their saints, the tzadik.

During the pilgrimages, walking around these villages is a jump back in time. An intense and vibrant presence conquers the city with its language, prayers, music, dances. This is the way these cities should have looked like before the Holocaust, when Chassidism was widespread in this area.
